2007 Portraits

Well it's been a while since I've written here. We have fresh portraits of the kids to share ( Lots more photos to transfer from the camera to online - hopefully soon.

If you're looking for more frequent online contact with Faina and me, we are now on Facebook:
I've started sharing videos there and the photos are accessible from there as well + other miscellaneous news and details.

We just returned from a brief 3 day trip up north (Collingwood / Wasaga Beach) that was great.

Hope you're enjoying your summer.

New resource for Job Seekers

I put together a while ago to help distribute job postings and resumes efficiently between candidates and recruiters / hiring managers.

Step 2 is a cheat sheet of career resources for job seekers in the Toronto IT market:

I hope someone finds it useful :)

Feedback is most welcome.

Disney photos posted

Two new albums posted, except now they are called 'Photo Sets' in the parlance of flickr. I will be moving all of the albums from Kodak Gallery over to flickr over time.

You can continue to go through the Photo Gallery page on, or go directly to

I'll write more about the trip in an upcoming post.

Kid Safe Mail

Ilana has her own e-mail address now which I am encouraging her to use to help develop her computer and writing skills.  Ahava has one too but she's still working on reading, and no - I haven't set Ariyeh up yet :)

I signed them up through a service called Kid Safe Mail.  This system allows parental control of who can e-mail their kids.  So far it is working well enough and Ilana is very excited about it.

Please let me know if you would like to correspond with Ilana and I'll send you her e-mail address.

Looking for a Job? Looking to Hire?

I get a ton of requests from job seekers and recruiters for introductions.  To help manage this task I started a site at Currently the traffic is mostly Software Development related positions in the Toronto area, although I expect that to change over time.

Please feel free to distribute this link to people you know that might be interested.  There is a range of hiring activity that purposefully avoids the big job boards which I hope can be assisted through this mechanism.

Site news + Disney pictures coming soon

The site is being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. It has been a very long run on the current look and feel (about 10 years) and seems to be suffering the way the feet of shoemakers' children are said to. The site will get a visual overhaul soon, for now I have started a Blog which can be read on the site or subscribed to (blog feed). If you choose not to though - that's fine, Blog postings will be e-mailed to the Yahoo group. Parallel to this, a new site & blog are now up in a very early form on which I will use to publish things of personal and technical interest outside of family news.
In other news, we recently returned from a great car trip adventure to Disney which was much more successful than our last trip by plane. Look for pictures and a blog entry soon describing the trek.
